Most income ever for a calendar year. Beat 2014 which was $302,679.16. Only 3 years with over $300,000 (2007, 2014, 2015). Income overspent is because we were overestimating the profit we would make on the 2015 Conference. We were overestimating by almost exactly that amount. If we hadn’t overestimated the profit from the 2015 Conference we would have run just about even for 2015. 

There were some questions about the Financial Statement Rev. Peter asked questions about how the Conference profit was estimated as the money comes in. Rev. Tony explained the process. Rev Charles asked where our funds were located and how the shortfall in our revenue was paid. Rev. Tony explained that it comes out of our checking account and our JP Morgan Account.

Old Business:

Renegotiating Contract With Rio:
Renegotiation of the contract with Rio is ongoing and promising. We are waiting to hear back from them, possibly Monday. They have offered us a 35% reduction in our room block from 1400 rooms to 923. We would be responsible for 80%, or 739 rooms. They have also agreed to offer us a reduction in our catering guarantee from $85,000 to $79,000. Details still need to be worked out.

Rev. Tony wants to officially thank Rev. Rudy for his role in renegotiating the contract with the Rio. We will examine the possibility of establishing an LLC for the next Conference to help better track the finances and protect the CMC from financial troubles.

Adjustment to the Minutes For Meeting #156, November 1, 2015 / Special Interim Meeting:
As Rev. Tony was going through the minutes we accepted at the last meeting, he realized that we left out two important items. He would like to amend the minutes to Meeting #156 to include these are:

The Executive Minster, Rev. Tony’s, Health Issue:
Rev. Tony communicated to the Board that he was having health issues that were impairing his ability to function at his normal efficiency. He reported what he was doing to meet this challenge. He was still making it into work everyday. The Board expressed concern and abundant love and support. All saw Rev. Tony getting through his health challenge soon. Rev. Judy, Rev. Roxie, Rev. Dusa Althea, Rev. Brad Pethoud, & Rev. John Williams are helping with the office work, especially until we can get a full time Assistant Minister.

Rev. Paul Wants To Teach ACIM-2 On Saturday Morning:
Several of Rev. Paul’s ACIM-1 students want to take ACIM-2 with him. He can do a class on Saturday morning.
Motion: Rev. Paul Marinkovich to teach an ACIM-2 class on Saturday Morning starting in January 2016. Unanimous

Motion: The above two items be added to the minutes of meeting #156. Unanimous

New Business:

Enrollment for 2016 Las Vegas Conference Has Increased:
Current enrollment is 463. This still includes many blank spaces occupied by the unsold blocks. Rev. Tony is projecting about 400 in attendance which will be good after we rework the contract with the Rio. There has been some difficulty getting clear enrollment information from some of the Presenters who bought blocks of tickets. Rev. Tony will be continuing to try and get the enrollment information from them. 

Rev. Roxie Would Like To Teach A Pre-Conference Workshop/Class:
Rev. Roxie would like to teach a workshop/class at the Las Vegas Conference on Friday Midday, after the Presenters/Staff meeting and before the first General Assembly. This would be communicated to enrollees by email since they wouldn’t have enrollment packets by then. 

Motion: Rev. Roxie Benson be scheduled to present a Workshop focusing on the Conference theme from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. on Friday April 8th. Unanimous

2018 Conference Planning:
Rev. Tony had a meeting Ru Paster, a Catering/Sales Manager at the newly remodeled Holiday Inn Golden Gateway. We are looking for a 2018 Conference that could be put together in time to enroll at the Las Vegas Conference. Rev. Tony will make a report.

CMC Has Launched a YouTube Channel:
We have launched a YouTube channel. We are putting up the edited videos from Sunday, both the lectures and the Miracle Share. Rev. Kelly has done an excellent job preparing the videos. Everybody can watch them, but you have to log in with your Google account to comment and subscribe. We are getting release forms from the speakers. A suggestion was made that we video some of the main presenters at the conference. This discussion was tabled.

CMC Speakers are able to link to the our Youtube channel videos and use them to promote their own work. 

Class Report:
Rev. Kelly has updated the records for our classes and is monitoring these to make sure that our teachers are turning in all their receipts in a timely fashion. She has done an excellent job. This is the current list of CMC classes. 10 classes taught by 5 Teachers/Ministers.

Rev. Tony is preparing a list of Ministers-In-Training and their Ministerial Projects. He will be monitoring these and making sure that the Ministers-In-Training fulfill their commitments. This has been an issue in the past especially with the students enrolled in the other teacher’s ACIM-2 classes, because they are hard for him to monitor. He will submit a full list at the next CMC Board Meeting.

Rev. Kelly as Assistant Minister:
Rev. Kelly is still in her 90 day probationary period so any discussion about this should be brief. She has taken over the scheduling of all Sunday Service positions: Speaker, Miracle Share, Reader, Greeter, Closer/Clean Up and in the future possibly Opener/Set-up. Rev. Kelly has talked with Rev. Tony about updating the guidelines for Sunday Speakers and Miracle Share people. A discussion was held and there was agreement that the primary speakers at Sunday Service to be called “Speakers" who will be giving a "Teaching." Rev. Tony also commented on the excellent work that Rev. Kelly has been doing.

Associate Ministers:
Rev. Kelly should be added to our list of CMC Associate Ministers by virtue of her being our Assistant Minister. There are a few on the list that haven’t been doing their agreed upon tasks. They should be talked to so we can see where they stand on this. 

Ordination Planned:
We are planning a large in-person Ordination for Sunday April 24. Many are traveling from other parts of the country to be here. The Board would like many of the local Ministers to attend and participate.

Promoting the CMC Classes and Events on Location:
Since people have come here seeing the CMC sandwich sign which is only up on Sunday, Rev. Judy suggested that we look into a light that will project the CMC’s name, address, and logo on the sidewalk. 

Improving the CMC 2269 Facility:
Rev. Rudy proposed that he make some modest rearrangements and remodeling to the CMC 2269 Market Street facility. He was reminded that he was already empowered to do this at a previous Board meeting. He can proceed at any time. 

Invite Conference Speakers to come to CMC:
Rev. Rudy will offer his apartment with a view of San Francisco Bay to Conference speakers who want to come to San Francisco, give a teaching at Sunday Service, and present a workshop on that Sunday afternoon. There was agreement that this sounding like a good idea.

Next Board Meeting, the 159th, needs to be rescheduled because the regular date, March 27, is Easter Sunday.
