The Way of Mastery Class:
The new format has been submitted to the Board. Proposal: 2 year class. 9 week segments with 3 lessons covered with the exception of lessons 1 to 3 which will last for 8 weeks. The fee will be the same for the 8 week period. The basic structure of the class is the same. Rev. Marci’s will be on Tuesdays 5:30-7:30 PST, starting September 2, 2014 concluding August 30, 2016. Rev. Heather’s class will begin on January 4, 2015 6-8 pm PST concluding January 1, 2017. The regular fee will be $80 and $65 for a CMC Supporting Members.
The Board discussed the proposal and determined that we need more specifics about The Way of Mastery class curriculum. The proposal needs a structure which includes the outline similar to a course syllabus: outline, objectives, lessons covered in each class with dates. What is actually going to happen in the classes?
Enrollment is very good at 310. There is a price deadline at the end of the month so we expect an increase in enrollment. We have sent a second deposit check to Hotel Pennsylvania for $17,813.25 (30% of guarantee). At the signing of the contract in Apr. we paid $14,854.37 (20%) so we now paid 50% of our guarantee. Remember that our guarantee will probably be much less than our actual bill.
Rev. Dusa Althea’s Thursday class started successfully on Jul. 3. Class is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30. She has 5 students. Rev. Vincent has changed his Monday class time to 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Tony’s approval, because his own school schedule has changed. There has been a slight drop in enrollment in ACIM-1 classes.
Board Meeting Agenda and Financial Reports
Rev. Charles requested that Agenda, Minutes, Financial Statements, & Proposals be provided to Board members at least 48 hours in advance so that we can be properly prepared for the meeting. Rev. Tony agreed that he would do this in the future and get the information to Board by 48 hours in advance.
