Welcome Rev. Daniel Tipton To The CMC Board Of Directors.

Minutes from 141st CMC Board meeting were read and accepted as amended.

Financial Reports:

Profit and Loss: Apr. 2013 to Jun. 2013 (2nd qtr.)
Income $64,863.44    Expenses $48,902.78    Income Remaining $15,960.66
Equity Report: Jun. 30, 2013
$49,993.67    Oct. 1, 2012 $55,789.65    Loss of Equity ($5,795.98)

Very good financial report. We did have $10,000 donation in April, yet even without that we were solidly in the black. This makes up entire decrease in Equity from last year ($11,423.49). This is the highest Equity we have had since June 30, 2007 -- 6 years.

We should soon have new Tuesday night subtenant, Sivan Garr @ $300 / month. We will then have 2 subtenants (Wed. night sub-tenant was reported last meeting) paying a total of $600 a month. This is a substantial bottom line benefit.

Everything still seems to be increasing. Sunday Service and Monday Class. ACIM-1 classes are going well and increasing.

Rev. Tony has received catastrophic health insurance from Kaiser. $415 / month. ($494 savings/month) Plan has a $4,000 / year deductible but currently Rev. Tony has no regular medical expenses so this is a good option for him. Plus we saved 2 and a half months of premiums. After Medical Insurance exchanges start there might be better deal that could be purchased.

Conference bookkeeping still not complete, but it looks like our estimates are very accurate. Rev. Tony's guess is that we were slightly conservative in our estimates, and things will be a little better than expected. If he is correct the third quarter will reflect an increase due to conservative estimates.

Supporting Member Report:

Currently 107 Supporting Members -- $5,062 total / month -- $47.31/ member
Net loss of 3 member and a loss of $66 month pledged.
Gained (1): Jean Pope
Lost (4): Griff Griffin, Jeff Tomboulian, Jon Welker, Gene Rowe

Old Business:

Painting and Remodeling Project:
Still need to present Rev. Rudy with $200 receipt for handyman. Will wait until table expense has happened so only one payment needs to be made. Rev. Rudy has gotten too busy to become "Image Coordinator" at this time. Rev. Dusa Althea has found some white tables. They are lighter and they fold in half -- $86.88. Rev. Rudy would like to see them.

Other Books In CMC Bookstore:
Should we carry other Jesus/Jeshua channeled books in CMC bookstore and generally acknowledge and support other channeled teaching. The Way Of Mastery, Urantia, Judith Coates, and others are potential. After discussion it was decided that, for now, CMC should focus on ACIM materials. There may be exceptions, such as books published by CMC Ministers or Supporting Members and books published by Presenters at conferences. Other exceptions can be discussed on a title to title basis.

New Business:

Is it time to hire an employee?
Rev. Tony feels that the current work load is not sustainable. Everything is suffering, and while key things are getting done, it is not nearly "ideal" and he is substantially overworked. Current financial situation is much better than it was. There are good signs. If we wait too long it could be detrimental. After discussion it was decided that Rev. Tony will come up with a job description to be circulated and approved by the Board and then a search can begin.

Status 2015 Conference
Rev. Tony has had no time to progress on this project yet. Rev. Marci and Rev. Vincent will help look for a possible downtown Manhattan hotel.

Should Teachers Be Able To Take Time Off From Classes?
Rev. Vincent talked about decision made at 141st meeting to have a new teacher teach the Wed. 4:30 p.m. class. He did not want a policy of replacing teachers who needed time off. After discussion it was decided Wed. 4:30 p.m. situation was unique, and not merely "time off." Rev. Peter would have needed about 4 months off, and then the same thing would happen every year. General consensus was that was the right decision for that situation, but a policy had not been established and each situation was unique.

Do We Need New Session of ACIM-1?
Is it time to start a new session of ACIM-1? Wednesday 4:30 p.m. class has 4 on waiting list and no openings in sight. Rev. Dusa Althea has expressed an interest in teaching a mid-day class on a weekday. Since she was no longer on the call, we will have to ask her what it is that she is willing to do, and see if it matches the perceived need.

Sunday Service Discussion
Rev. Tony opened discussion about the Sunday Service. Things are increasing and we need to keep putting our best foot forward. Miracle Share people still not getting the message of what is appropriate. Rev. Marci would handle communication with Miracle Share people that what is needed is a short 3 minute testimonial about how study of ACIM, and possibly participation with the CMC, have been a positive in people's mirs. Getting to Service a few minutes early is very important. Talking to new people very important. Discussion about other issues also took place: music, singing, decor.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
The next meeting will be on Sep. 15, 2013 at 12:45 p.m.

Respectfully submitted: Rev. Tony Ponticello, Acting Secretary
